We're on BRAIN OVERLOAD!

Kim and I have had the opportunity to make trips to the Church Office Building several times and are currently on brain overload trying to understand all the responsibilities that go along with this Church Service calling.  We have our first trip out of the country scheduled for October and will do evaluations in 3 west Africa nations.  We go for additional training to Salt Lake tomorrow and then have a meeting with the other four Development Couples next week.

We welcome your prayers in our behalf so that we can understand our duties and have the faith, energy, and mental capacity to carry them out!

We'll keep you in our prayers. However, I'm confident you two are the perfect fit for this assignment and will do amazing things.

I loved the article in the new September Ensign about the wheelchair program. Did you see it?

Yes I saw it. The whole wheelchair program is on a major overhaul because, what the Church has done in the past, hasn't really been very successful. In fact, they've created some "wheelchair graveyards" throughout the world as well as let wheelchairs go to the wrong kind of patients and actually caused more problems than help! The idea behind the initiative now is to only give wheelchair out to organizations that have capable people that can be trained to give them out properly. The end result is that much fewer chairs will be distributed in the next couple of years but the recipients will have a product that they can actually use and maintain! It's exciting to be a part of such a great work.
